Hong Kong Tours

Victoria Harbour  Take a Harbour tour during the day to see one of the world’s busiest ports with all the freighters at close range - however, not to be missed is the Technicolor sky at night created by ‘A Symphony of Lights’. This spectacular multimedia display of coloured lights, laser beams and searchlights has already been named the “World’s Largest Permanent Light and Sound Show” by the Guinness World Records.

Victoria Peak  Take the funicular railway to the top of ‘The Peak’. This tram has been operating since 1888. If your timetable allows go up late afternoon and watch the city’s lights transform Hong Kong to a magical ‘fairy light show’.

Street Markets in Kowloon  Temple Street Night Market is Hong Kong's most famous open-air market, which comes to life at dusk, with a bustling array of stalls selling everything from watches and leatherwear to clothing and souvenirs.
The day time Jade Market is good place to pick up inexpensive costume jades. Ladies' Market is a day-long street market devoted to anyone with an eye for bargain-priced clothing, toys, cosmetics and household knick-knacks.
A visit to Stanley can include a little sprinkling of everything the historic town has to offer: this means getting just enough sun on the sandy beaches, purchasing a few baubles and cheap goods from the market, and taking advantage of the alfresco dining. With culinary options that range as widely as Stanley’s, it’s more than feasible to weave your way through the packed Main Street restaurant row trying appetizers, sharing meals and swilling a perfectly chilled glass of wine, sangria or beverage of your choice while the sun slowly sets on this buzzing seaside destination.

Aberdeen Harbour  Take a 20-minute sampan ride and cruise around the typhoon shelter to see the old fishing community still living on their boats.

OUTLYING ISLANDS

Cheung Chau  The Pak Tai & Tin Hau temples are excellent examples of 17th / 18th Century temples where the faithful come and worship the Goddess of the Sea and Taoist god called ‘Supreme Emperor of the Dark Heaven’.

Lantau Island  The largest of the outlying islands, Lantau, is of course the site of the International airport and the new Disneyland, but peace and quiet can be found on the white sands of Cheung Sha beach. Marvel at the Po Lin Monastery and the World’s tallest outdoor seated bronze Buddha.

Lamma  Famous for its harbour-front seafood restaurants. If you have the energy Lamma offers a rewarding walk to the high point of the island where you can really ‘get away from it all!’

NEW TERRITORIES  Visit the New Territories, also known as the Gateway to China - here you will see much of Hong Kong's rich heritage that has been restored to its former glory.
Visit Man Mo Temple, dedicated to the gods of Man (literature) and Mo (martial arts). Step back into the mid-1800s as you enter Tai Fu Tai, the opulent residence built by a scholar who was bestowed the title of Tai Fu (mandarin) by a Qing emperor. Lavish plaster mouldings and auspicious Chinese wood carvings adorn its regal interior. Architecture lovers can find similar exquisite décor inside the Tang Chung Ling Ancestral Hall, built in honour of the Tang clan's founding ancestor. The nearby walled village of Lo Wai, offers fascinating sights of village life in the New Territories.

Clients’ comments

From Carole and Trevor

We just wanted to say how much we enjoyed this wonderful trip to China and the Cruise as well. Everyone, on the trip, said that it fulfilled their expectations and more, as every day, was a new experience and adventure. They all praised Nancy, who was an exceptional guide for us, plus all the other local guides, who gave us such a lot of local historical knowledge for the area that we were visiting, and for those who were with us for a 3 day visit, became good friends.

The hotels were excellent. All of the shows that we were booked into were outstanding and entertaining. Our cruise down the Yangtze to the Three Gorges Dam was very enjoyable and the ship was excellent.

All in all, the organisation for the whole of this trip went like clockwork, thanks to Tom, Nancy, local guides, coach companies and of course, all the work that goes on behind the scenes in your London and Beijing offices.

I would be grateful if you could pass on our gratitude to everyone involved in putting our trip together and executing it so well. So, on behalf of everyone, may I say a big Thank You to your Company for providing us with this trip of a lifetime.
